I am deeply shocked when I heard this bad news. Ethiopian music lovers know who Tilanun Gessesse is. All age Ethiopians loves him very much. He won the heart and love of all Ethiopians.
Ethiopia lost a great man in art. His songs touch every angle of life and nature. He songs for everything about everything. I love all his music, his gift and have his album always with me.
May God bless his soul and put at rest in heaven.

Hailu, Edp is the same one person is Lidetu(kidetu) and Tplf is the same one person is melese. when pro. mesfin w/mariam was join UDJP, i don’t like it. because we know pro. mesfin character. pro. mesfin is support Lidetu(kidetu) at the first.pro. didn’t like to stay one party for long time. only he need to blame somebody .

We lost a great man. He was an icon of love, peace, harmony, unity, and most of the good things I could imagine. Tilahun’s death is one of the saddest news I heard in my life with regard of Ethiopian affairs.
Ethiopia will remember him forever via the excellent works he left behind.
May he rest in peace!

Tilahun Gessese indirectelly involved in massgenocidal crime by holding music tours in America and Canada to collect money to buy guns and tanks to Mengestu`s armies to slaughter and massgenocide Eritreans and Tigreans.

The death of the legendary singer the honorable Tilahun Gesesse is a tremendous loss to Ethiopia. Ethiopians who love their country pay tribute to him and will remember him as one of their greatest men. However, weyannes who do not like Ethiopia and Ethiopians but are in Ethiopia to loot the country`s resources are demeaning this great man.
No Ethiopian expects something good and honorable from the weyannes and their supreme ethnic leader, Meles Zenawi.

The secretary of the UDJP described the recent demonstration of his party as a success while the reality is that the UDJP is helping Meles Zenawi to improve his tarnished image. The problems of the UDJP is
that the so called moderates who have formed and leading it can not
be considered as a genuine opposition force in the eyes of Ethiopians.
That is why the party is having problems related to cohesiveness and unity of purpose. Having many meetings and discussions do not make any party democratic.

Moderate and reconciliatory parties like the UDJP are very important to the brutal and criminal regime of Meles Zenawi. Meles Zenawi`s western supporters have been active in promoting and supporting the UDJP. The motive behind is that it will ensure a kind of exit door to Meles Zenawi in case the country becomes ungovernable to him. The soft line of the UDJP vis-a-vis Meles Zenawi`s regime has become clear since W/TBirtukan`s apologetic statement during her visit in the United States. The apology was for nothing since the members and supporters of the TPLF have excluded themselves from the mainstream Ethiopian societies as part of the policy of their leader, Meles Zenawi. There are political analysts who maintain that Meles Zenawi`s motive for arresting w/t Birtukan is to popularize and promote the party. The UDJP as a moderate, compromising and reconciliatory party does not pose any danger to Meles Zenawi and his thugs. The UDJP is the continuation and outgrowth of Kestedamena, a moderate party who became part of the former Kinijit. The leaders of this new party are accused of sabotaging the public strike called in October, 2005 and saving the regime of Meles Zenawi. The ground for this accusation is Dr. Berhanu Nega`s previous association with and compromissing and soft line when it comes to the regime of Meles Zenawi. Analyses of some of his speeches and statements, indicate that Dr. Berhanu Nega is more inclined to Meles Zenawi than the hawk Engineer Hailu Shawel. These speeches and statements have given ground for those Ethiopians who are suspecting that Dr. Berhanu Nega had joined Kinijit to prevent what he has described as take over by an Amhara Dictator, Engineer Hailu Shawel.
On the other hand, as a street smart (Arada politician) he has distanced himself from his former party colleagues and created a means to stay out of the country.

Dear editor,
If you are an Ethiopian, please have an editorial policy and screen out antisocial and anti-Ethiopian comments.
I can’t understand why the 7th comment above is posted. Some people who outsourced their minds to anti-Ethiopian, false propaganda, who are not willing to examine the facts for themselves and have their own views usually air their tantrums every where.
Why to post such a comment? At least, is it socially acceptable?

I agree with you- It is true, Mr. Tilahune Gasese by choice served Col. Mengestu Hailemariam eventhough he knew Mengestu was killing hundreds of thousands of civilians in nothern part of the country mainly eritreans and tigrean ethiopians.

you are full of crap. Of course an Eritrean is going to try and pretend he’s Ethiopian and write crap about Tilahun.
First of all, a true Ethiopian would never say he was a part of the death of people in Ethiopia…you brought that on yourselves.(That’s why they call it a war, people die…it’s really not our fault if you couldn’t handle the thing you started.)

Sure Tilahun gesses’s song are beloved by all musi lovers, but his life as a genuine human being specially during his “able” times is questionable. Thogh, i like his oldies music, i am not fond of his moral character and surprised about people’s reaction.
