EMF (5 December 2008) - The kangaroo federal high court passed six years prison sentence and additional fine of 18,000 ET. Birr against the pop star Tewdros Kassahun, (aka Tedi Afro) today, EMF source said. After the sentencing, Tedy requested the judge to say some thing in front of the court. Judge Leul G/Mariam angrily warned him saying, “Go out! I will, otherwise, give you the maximum punishment.” People were heard shouting opposing the sentence.
According to EMF sources, thousands were gathered in front of the court.
The TPLF agazi force is deployed immediately.
Several supporters of Tedy Afro are reportedly arrested for expressing their anger.

Political rally is a crime in Ethiopia and that is why the Great Run is billed as “Talaku Rucha, Bisote Megletchia” in Amharic meaning “The Great Run, platform to speak our minds”, and that is how young, old Ethiopians showed to the world what the so called trial of Teddy Afro has been all about for the last eight months, a sham circus and a conspiracy by those “Asamas”/hippos who are eating everything on their way including their loved singer, Teddy Afro.
Teddy Afro is now a martyr and a symbol of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian masses have to pray for him in churches and mosques. This young man’s song for tolerance among Ethiopian Christians and Muslims, nationalities not to fall to the trap of hate propaganda by the TPLF’s hippos for the last eighteen years was a remarkable achievement no prison can take it from us.
Locking Teddy in jail will not stop the resistance movement and those apologists who are telling us that TPLF is not enemy let them go and pray for the longevity of their king and queen. Queen Azeb Mesfin avenged the humiliation she received in America when she came for an “award” few years ago by orchestrating the hit-and-run show to its successful end. She can now sleep good listening to Teddy Afro songs.

Yes it is Black Friday. Judge Leuel is like a PC keyboard, all he does is take everything from his master and display it on the monitor. To be honest, I can’t say that Teddy doesn’t kill a human, sepcially given that in this case death occured in a hit and run car accedent. My argument is where is the eveidence? What ever Teddy did, the evidence strongly shows that Tedy is not guilty. When I was a small boy in school, the school pricipal who knows my family well asked my older brother how old he was. He told him 9. I was 11. He came to my class and asked how old I was. I told him I was 11. He also asked me who was older, I said my brother was older. He went back and conformted my brother, he told him he has nothing to do with how old I was, all he knows is that he was 9 years old. Did he grew up to be Judge Leuel since I don’t even know where my brother is now.

This is not surprising as woyanes have been doing since they came to power, and are against those who reflect Ethiopian unity maintained by mutual love and respect contained in diversity. They are doing it against we Oromos seeking even the least human rights (not equity in power and previledges). Four years ago, I heard certain groups and individuals from Tigrai region who has deep resentment on him because he mentions Ethiopian harmony and not hegemony of a ruling group. The population census showing the reducing Addis and Amhara population may be one of the frustrations and illusions by the woyanes to oppress the people and stay in power.

Yes, we Ethiopians did not push this brutal government seriously. One Kenyan friend told me that they sacrificed a lot after the flawed polls and they gained attention from the international community and their government had negotiated after the people’s forceful demonstrations and reactions. We do not react seriously, that is why we lost the last election. We tend to focus on our temporal differences and passively push the mass exposing the youth, we do not show our strength and are despised by others. We are a kind of ‘cowards’ and want to live with cowardly surrendering our rights and lives.

I SALUTE THE BRAVE SOLIDER!
On this day, the day of the TPLF “judicial system” having sentenced innocent citizen to a six years confinement, once again TPLF has proven its objectives as a ruthless and anti- Ethiopian element and Teddy Afro has proven that he is a new model for courage, decency and a symbol of resistance for this generation and a generation to come.
No artist throughout the history of Ethiopia in such a young and vibrant age has screamed louder for the unity of Ethiopians and stood his ground on the basic principles for the country and the people he loved so much more than Teddy Afro.
Teddy Afro was famously known for his golden voice and poetic talent; today he has proven that he is a brave young man who gave in all the comfort and lavish lifestyle he has righteously earned for the country and the people he loved dearly. In comparison, I only wish the rest of us specifically the opposition political leaders some who are useless feudals who are behind time and some educated power mongers who are a talking machine could have a minute portion of the courage and decency of this young man -Teddy Afro.

“Hit –and-Run” proceedings and Sheik Alamudin who has a personal Vedanta and determination to destroy the legacy of Teddy Afro may rejoice. But tomorrow is a different day! Tomorrow will bring justice, fairness and equality for the common people.
Just as the leadership of Nazi Germany was brought to justice during the 1945 Nuremberg trial, Ethiopia will have its African Nuremberg trial day and all the TPLF mercenaries and criminal elements who have incarcerated innocent citizens for vendetta, destroyed the livelihood of millions, divided the Nation and the people into ethnical narrow caves, robbed the nation’s economy for the past 17 years will be brought to justice. YES –WE CAN!
Nevertheless, my country is impoverished and the people have endured so much misery by dictators and outlaw nomadic leaders. I am proud to be Ethiopian for my country has given birth to many heroes and herons from Emperor Minilik, Empress Taytu Betul, Abebe Bikela, Zeraye Derese, Abdissa Aga, and Belay Zeleke, Teodros (Meysaw Kassa) and the millions who are the unsung heroes our Nation :the poor , the street beggars and homeless kids whose nightly shelter is heavenly sky , the homemaker mothers, the laborers and the farmer whose sole resource is his bare hands, and the students who marched bravely on the streets of the capital for a better Ethiopia paid the ultimate price. Thus proving that the TPLF outlaw political “geniuses” has failed to understand a key component of Ethiopian people; they can incarcerate, torcher and kill Ethiopians but they will never destroy or defeat the spirit of Ethiopians! No need to look farther than Teddy Afro a brave solider in the land of TPLF jungle.

It is really fucking interesting. How do you all know that Teddy did not kill the boy??? Teddy opposing weyane does not mean that he doesnot do any mistakes or he is a wholy man. This has nothing to do with any politics. A boy died because of the accident, and Teddy was found responsible for the cause. Take a minute and think what the boy might be if he didnot die. He is also an equal citizen. Teddy, as a public figure, should have managed the case in a better way. He doesnt even have any licence… I am sorry for him but he deserves the sentence. And, lets please use our mind before taking any judgments. It is not like always weyane is wrong and anybody against it is absolute.

In addition to what I have said……Remember that even Obama said ” Africans dont understand howmuch it makes a difference to have whatever but a working government”. He is right, we have at least a working government that we can improve with time. Just it needs a little thought, i mean a smart thought, not a old style of hateful politics with arrogance whatever (which you can read from many of the comments listed above)… Any way, I am happy with the generation coming up…. I am not quite sure of Teddie’s guilt as much as his innocence though he is undeniably one of our brightest star on the sky right now. I understand what it means for ethiopian art and even civil society development that he will spend his prime life imprisoned while he could achieve far greater purpose. He is an equal of Bob for Ethiopians as an artist who strived to reach everyone’s heart for peace, tolerance and unity. This is much true and may be more about Teddy. But . . . .I wonder . . is it a complete impossibility that he might have been in that car driving on that street during that very night the boy died ??? Does it make Teddy a worthless criminal except a fallible humanbeing like any of us??? Shit happens and of course adversaries are around always to capitalize the mistake of their foes. But i see that we should here act in civil manner keeping teddy’s spirit of tolerance towards ethnic divisions, religion . . . of course of not politics. That way at least we can stand with him in Ethiopian decency. Guilt or not guilt, he is my hero.

WEl, if you followed his case for that last 2 years, then you would know it. and here are some questions that i want you to answer.
Why didn’t they sentenced him immediately they took him before 2 years?
How couldn’t the policy followed him and catch him immediately if he saw him hitting instead of coming as a wittness after w years?
Why did the doctor in the hospital created mistake on the dating of the accident? is that a coiinsidence too?
why did the dates on the hospital documents happened to be wrong?
why was he not given the guarantor right as any other similar crimes?
Why were polices asking for ids for trial attendants especially on his case?
why was he sent to the same jugje who was following political prisonor’s cases?
