3 June 2010 — Oromo Liberation Front – Press Release, The Meles/TPLF regime’s May 23, 2010, sham and fraudulent election vindicated the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) and embarrassed its foreign supports. The OLF did not have an illusion that the Meles/TPLF regime is an antithesis to democracy and the rule of law. After all, the Meles/TPLF regime is a declared and ardent disciple of the “Maoist theory of Revolutionary Democracy” and as such one could expect of it nothing but a sham and farcical elections.
The relation of the OLF and the TPLF regime was an adequate early warning to all interested that the TPLF régime is tyrannical and it has no political will and commitment to democracy; respect for human rights and freedoms and the rule of law. This early warning was conveniently not heeded particularly by the Western supporters of the tyrannical regime.
It is worthy to note that the OLF was part of the struggle against the Military Junta that preceded the Meles regime. It is also important to remember that the OLF was a party to the governing Coalition established in 1991, after the down fall of the military junta. The OLF joined the coalition government with the TPLF in good faith with the intention of laying down foundations of an all inclusive democracy, respect for human rights and effect a peaceful transition to the peoples’ sovereignty whereby the Oromo quest for self-determination and all other lingering political questions of the country would be peacefully and democratically resolved. For the record, the OLF had opposed the TPLF’s undemocratic stance of excluding some of the stakeholders from the transitional arrangement.

Why is TPLF scared to have free media if 99.63% voted for it? Why is TPLF scared to hear what others have to say regarding the economy if there is so much growth? Why is the TPLF trying to silence new ideas, thoughts and debate?

If OLF is smart enough and have the leadership who can forecast the political future, and if they can get out of this self hatred, identity crises, narrow, and unrealistic secession view, it is its time for OLF to lead the struggle. Which OLF is making such press release. OLF has played the biggest role in prolonging the life of TPLF/EPRDF government. The objective of OLF and some of the stances taken by their leaders and members (chasing out all abysinnians from Oromia or killing them all) give a very scary messages to both the Ethiopian people and Western countries. You can read some of the commentaries made by officials of the main supportest of Meles government recently. USA, Britain and others supporters of Meles in the West strongly believe that Meles is the better of the evils by keeping the country stable. Had it not been for Meles’s or EPRDF’s rule, the country would have turned in to blood shed and chaos: OLF and ONLF are always mentioned as the justification for such cases. It looks true as one needs only to browse your websites to see the hate, anger, and the genocidal propaganda going on. You seem also to work hard to make the world realise that. First start to evaluate your political stances in the eyes of the interest of the Oromo people and the practically realisable tactics to hold on to before making such empty press releases.

I am an Ethiopian-American and of Oromo descent. I read on OLF and it is a divisive party. It is working against itself and its policies are already discredited by the masses.
I believe working in unity but not in diversity. If OLF picks up the rod, then I think we should be able to extend our hands and help them out.
OLF has to clean up its dirt, straighten its agenda as per people’s call and work to join hands to that end.
EPRP is one party which has been a cancer as well. These are divisive parties. It is time to work together or else eliminate these rif raf parties and solidfy our armed struggle.

What does the Oromo Libration front has to do with the farse election, when Ginbot 7, EPPF did not say anything about it, unless it is grieving over the loss of Medrek in popular vote and the loss of equivalent popular vote of the leaders losing parliamentary seat from their respective woredas took away the campaign promises made to it by these leaders of of the would be Tigrai-Harena/fdd/efdr, a mirror image of TPLF/eprdf. This only adds up to the three way thug of campaign of the polical factions of the negative forces of disintegration to further send Ethiopia into chaos and instability on top of the artifially created ethnic boundries, ethnic federalism of divide and rule, ethnic dictatorship, and now the breaking away of organic entity, called Ethiopia into ethnic states, rather than federated States.
Both OLF and TPLF have originated out of the student movement of the socialist revolution, be it Maoist, stalinist, etc. under the banner of repression of the nationalities, not class struggle of the individuals of the previous regimes, which puts you on the same catagory as TPLF/eprdf regime, should you recapture the illusive right to secssion upto independence from the organic entity of Ethiopia. Along with those with ethnic agenda, you are striving against the unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ethiopia and Ethiopians. Nothing more, nothing less, other than creating turmoil in your skirmishes with TPLF/eprdf regime to achieve the same objective that was unilaterally bestowed to Eritrea.

I am an ardent OLF supporter, and contnue to do so until the Oromo people people (and all that are under TPLF rule) are free from this tyrannical rule. And by the way, our struggle is not to remove one (new Tigrean) domination and bring back the (old Amhara) domination. We want our right place in history and sit as equals with all. To that end, OLF and the Oromo people are ready to go extra mile and sit with all Ethiopian parties (WITHOUT ANY PRE-CONDITION) and liberation fronts to negotiate and find out what is best for all of us after this regime is gone.
For those of you who are dreaming to put your own Pre-condition on OLF for cooperation, please wake-up from your day dreams, it will not happen. We don’t choose one master over the other. Putting pre-condition on some independent entity by itself is the same old Habesha rulers mentality, and we’ve had enough of it already. It makes us sick to our stomach.
As for the slogan “victory to the Oromo people”, this is a long standing slogan of OLF that is as old as OLF itself. If you read any OLF press release and official document, you will see this slogan. Yes, as its name also indicates OLF is established and fighting for the right of the Oromo people, and yes it desires “victory” for its people. If any one is offended by this, we feel sorry for that person.

since when the OLF has been using Arabic words on its official letters? if OLF needs to work with all Ethiopians, it must respect and use the language, culture, philosophy etc of Ethiopia in general. Arabic language doesn’t represent us. we dont know it. I have seen so far OLF is still full of hatred in its mind. it doesnt beleive that it is part of Ethiopia. how can we work with this kind of narrow minded political organization? it needs to review and examine its political programe.

Eprp? These groups still have power? Why don’t they join other groups instead of EPRP? What is their slogan this time?
Eventhough I am saying this to EPRP, we Ethopians need to learn to forgive and reach out as long as it is clear that what the aim of their goal is. For example, I am delighted OLF will be part of the struggle. However it is clear that OLF is not independent and is independent with other anti Ethiopian factions that is the only way it survive and it is easily persuaded without realizing the long term process is and what their will leave for their children in the long run. OLF was used by many factions against Ethiopia. TPLF used them until they held power and discarded them. Shaebia used them to increase its secession agenda and support. Even though OLF still collaborates with Shaebia, it is evident that Shaebia until it gains strength in the Horn of Africa, it will have no use for OLF. In fact, Shaebia is using them again against TPLF. OLF is also being used by froeign nations such as Egypt in order to control Nile. What will Egypt benefit for OLF except do what they want to break Ethiopia apart and weaken it. Does OLF gain benefit from Nile once Egypt controls it? Absolutely not. So, in fact OLF is advancing its extinction and under development by allowing Egypt control them. Please see by this evil Egyptian who is talking against Ethiopia to divide the people by seemingly caring for Oromo people but they are not. The guy’s name is Prof. Shamssadin from American Chronicle. This Egyptian’s goal is to cause hatred among Ethiopia to create civil war and eventually to break Ethiopia apart for its control of the NIle. Therefore, OLF please come to the light side. Other Ethiopians must understand that also, the Oromo people in the past had less advantage than others such as the Amara. Unless we don’t come to terms that this inequality has happened past or present and put our selves in another shoes, then we are in denial. OLF must also understand that this inequality has nothing to do among the people but leaders to push their agenda so that is why going to extreme and talking about secession that will cause hurt and death among Oromos and other citizens is beyond. So, OLF should denounce the Liberation FRont, other Ethiopians must know that we can’t live with the status quo and stay mainstream when we talk about Ethiopia. Ethiopia includes everybody not just Addis Ababans, the Northerners, etc. we must reach out to ONLF, OLF any other groups in Ethiopia if we want one Ethiopia. So we can’t have our cake and eat it too. We must learn from our past and present mistakes and make a better future by being enlightened now. For instance here in the capitalist world, we Ethiopians as a whole have become more individualistic and have made ourselves completely disconnected among oursleves. How many of us interact with OLF, ONLF any other extreme elements to break this disconnection. The OLF and ONLF must also do the same. We need to filter out extreme ethno fascist elements among every ethnic groups and there are among Amaras who wants the status quo, Oromos, Somalis, Tigreans, you name it. These elements are very divisive and we need to prevent this and change them or ban them. TPLF is thriving by our division and the West is also saying of course if Ethiopians are not getting along, how do they think they want to rule Ethiopia? That is their thinking. In fact for foreigners it also helps them to get hold of our resources because we are divided. Make no mistake, Meles regime has made friends all over the world against us. We have let that happen for 2 decades. It is no one’s fault but ours. African nations such our have learned to let African dictators not accountable for their people and nations but outsiders. Dictators will not be created unless we let it happen. Dictators will not become puppets of the outside unless we let them become puppets. We should our leaders work for us not the other way around just like Western leaders. For example, look at what just happened with the PM of Japan Hatoyama, he dissapointed his people by promising the withdrawal of U.S troops instead he didn’t do it because of the coercion from U.S. He gracefully, and with respect resigned. Thiis is the type of leader and system Ethipia should have. Our past leaders from Haileselassie and beyond excluding after Mengistu, even though we were in the era of Monarchy like every Euro country who had and still have our leaders played a good negotiation, diplomacy and leadership role. Imagine that was the backward society then but still kept us safe from colonization, brought every Ethipian together and amongst us we were at peace then despite some inequalities. Make no mistake, go around every nations where there is and was no inequalities, Ethiopia is no exception. Yet our enemies attracted the vulenrable Ethiopians to make them think extreme way of thinking and radical that became detrimental and dangerous not to the vulnerable but the whole Ethipia. As time change and turn to 21st, 22nd cenetruy, etc, such inequlaitites could have been corrected if we have far sighted thinking without distraction how to solve such problems and bring democracy. Unfortunately indeed it is true that leaders tend to hold on to the status quo to continue their grab or for fear of drastic change. People buy into that prolonging the inequality and oppression. That is why people who are oppressed push for war, secession, destruction, etc. It is cause and effect. Like for example that is what caused the creation of TPLF and OLF, and that is what caused the creation of G7, EPPF, etc. but it should be aimed towards changing bad leadership but not to the point it becomes destructive to humanity and our people. So we all have to put our selves in other group’s shoes. What scares to death TPLF regime is the unification of the majority who are Oromos and Amaras, not to exclude Tigreans of course. These groups are very important because they have demonstrated their effectiveness by working against Italy’s occupation. Tigreans whetner we like it or not under Meles regime now have become important part of leadership considering their intention is one Ethipia with equality and democracy. So our struggle for one, equal and democratic Ethiopia should be the role Oromos and Amaras are playing today. Most Tigreans tend to be staunch supporters of current regime because the regime has brought them power, wealth and comfort and this is fact. However they could also like Seye et. al important role in the struggle against TPLF regime. For instance the unification present in Medrek scared TPLF the most rather than the weak Shawel’s party because TPLF main fear is unification that strengthens Ethiopian people against them. They know they will disappear in a day. That is why it thrives in dividing Ethiopians in universities, etc.So, once again the unification and leadership of Oromos and Amaras is important against TPLF regime. TPLF regime knows it is weak domestically if this unification occurs that is why it built friends around the world and in Africa against this to kill this unificaiton if anything happens to TPLF regime. For instance, Sudan is staunch supporter that is why it gave 46 of Ethiopian fighters to the regime. Eritrea can make mends with the regime any time if their disagreement is settled once. What will happen to OLF and EPPF then? The regime control Somalia with the West creating chaos and to keep them divided. There are many Somalians that the regime owns and any time it wants something, Somalia can occupy Ethipia any time. Rwanda and Uganda are ready to send army against Ethiopians to protect the regime. This is now have become fashionable among Africa’s dictators. In order to extend their power they are now collaborating amongst themselves. Not to mention the support they get from foreign nations.

OLF: Artificially created local group but changed to a political patient dying abroad.
Among the many pseudo-political subordinates that were intentionally created as local political baits and sedatives were OLF and its likes and the jargons associated with them: freedom through ethnicity and self rules up to ………. You do not have to participate and be a promoter of a political system in which you and your neighbor -ethnically different, should create different political shelters and memberships based on your ethnic differences. But by doing so, you create a neighborliness whose temperature of coexistence is measured based on the temperature of the politics that you created: when things get worse on the political temperature, your good neighborliness are in trouble to the extent of killing and slaughtering each other. That was what happened among neighbors in the high times of OLF and its short political life in the country. But such political systems cannot work and do not have modern, civilized social behaviors and political thinking of contemporary societies.
For instance, in America where almost all species of the human race exist, only two political parties dominate the political life of the society and give the necessary, not only political, but social, and economic leadership that all people can benefit from and fulfill the American dream.
No president, devoid of wisdom and virtue, that will come out and declare and open a Pandora box of self distraction and political cannibalism on the American society that was built by the spill of bloods of its former founders and several generations of all its citizens, who built a political system where ethnically oriented education system and grand political formation was condemned for the greater good of all its citizens. Instead, they declared first: “ we the people” - as one entity and say: life, liberty, freedom and pursuit of happiness is guaranteed to all, only when it is true and guaranteed to every individual American. They did not say though, to all ethnically collected groups- first.
In fact in this regard, I would like to quote what Dr. Negasso Gidada said one time- “ oromo nationalists behave like chickens that are not yet coming out of their shells “. He was absolutely right- in this 21st century of a modern society, you do not expect a thinking mode and spirit of a stone age.
The noise, that this locally created group made, after the government told them that their demands were enshrined and guaranteed in the famous political sedative and bait article 39, was answered just with simple friendly statement: just live, what do you need, what you need is incorporated in article 39.
But, this friendly statement given to OLF could have been given to a previous political patient, but needed to be dismembered. The difference is that OLF is intentionally created both as a political bait- political object of releasing something from a political grip and as a political sedative. If you have in important material, but caught by an animal, then you have to devise a stimuli in which that animal responds and likes to hold. Throw that object towards or to the direction you want the animal to go. When the animal tries to get that object- a bait , definitely it will open its jaw and release the object. Make sure that you throw a bit farther, so that you have the space and time needed to get the object released, before the animal returns and threatens you. That was exactly article 39, its introduction to the constitution of Ethiopia and OLF and other locally created groups were. To let Ethiopia lose its natural part, Eritrea and its natural coastal boundary of Red Sea forever.
In doing so, practically, OLF played as a bearer of a slogan of an irresponsible and bad child : “When the house of my father is robed, I have to be one of the robberies” instead of saying, no that is my father’s house, that is my mother’s house, it is here that I grew up, I do not want that to see happening and do not want to take part in this act of treason and self distraction.
The artificially created but later became a political patient, OLF’s illiterate political adventure and accomplishments can be summarized in short: It gave all its innocent, unlearnt and politically, socially and economically illiterate supporters handcuffed to the ruling party that had a sinister political plan to make a political, social and economic surgery on Ethiopia and its society that has to stay for long to come.

All the so called opposition parties including OLF, see that, we the people of Ethiopia need unity in diversity. But OLF and the likes still insist on dividing and deciding on our fate. We need unity more than any thing now. That’s why when ever OLF says something, we are pleased and welcome OLF. Therefore, OLF come to the pan-Ethiopianism by heart not fake call for action. Devise a mechanism that fits the needs of the people and the time requires.
I like the idea of forming an umbrella organization incorporation the so called, OLF,ONLF, EPRP, G7 and the like to work together and lead the people in the diaspora for a meaningful change. The struggle for liberty against Woyanne is at its highest peak more than ever. Go for it.

Woyanes are out in force. OLF is a mirage that stands against their hegemony and perhaps the nascent OLF may wake up today as a result of disinfranchisement of the Oromo people through the so-called election.There is nothing left now that the TPLF has garnered all the poltical, economic and military structure of the country. It is now called Apartheid. Apartheid was rejected by a relentless struggle of the people and true struggle in Ethiopia is about to begin. For those who wish the OLF is dead, just remember that the TPLF has given it a booster shot by its action in stealing the vote and insulting the Oromo people. They have already started filling up the prisons with Oromo youth. They forgot that prison is where nationalism is nurtured.

OLF must yield itself to objective conditions of the globe and Africa. In fact, if OLF decides to accept pan-Ethiopianism, Woyane got only a quarter day to pack and leave. Needless to stress that OLF should work with genuine forces that are committed to democratic principles all along including working in harmony and willing to share responsibility. There are chauvinist elements within the opposition group who spit words and got no courage to take any action. I say to these elements to think beyond their ego! Again action is what is needed immediately. Honestly, I am not very optimistic but not pessimistic either.
One more thing, I am not sure about the authenticity of this press release (which group of OLF is responsible for this?) . It is very common in Ethiopian politics to see an individual releasing press release on behalf of an organization without the authorization of that organization.

Is the language choice because of Egypt or Eritrea? And I don’t understand why OLF is opposing TPLF led gov. I dont think that i will see OLF and ONLF leaders working for ethiopia in my life time. Rather than working with these groups, i prefer working with EPRDF. atleast i have a country to talk about in EPRDF. Those OLF and ONLF leaders are so backward that they dont even know what a country means. They believe that a country should be one ethenic group. It is pathetic. Why dont these guys read about what happened in other countries and how many ethenic groups exist in other countries??? anyways Reality and Talk are different. as far as they say they want cooperation, let them show us they stand for ethiopia’s cause. How can they think that it should be only silte people who is concerned for silte people?? OLF will also devastate Ethiopia once Meles leaves thanks to Egypt. Egypy and not only pushing the Ogadens but also Oromos to separate from Ethiopia. This is not to help them in anyway but to weaken and divide Ethiopia more so that Nile can flow to Egypt with no one above benefiting from it. Eritrea is also contributing to this sabotage in one way or another. Guys how can we fight all our enemies? Inside we are being crushed by Meles and outside by these and others. A STAR VERSES A METEOR

A star is a celestial object that has its own source of light for all who can observe it. It is a source of inspiration and admiration to all of mankind who are able to study it, and gives a further impetus for man to study the wider domain in which it (the star) is sighted- the universe.
In the contrary, a meteor is a space wondering object in our solar system that is purely a rock that displays light -like matter when it is observed from a distance and closer to earth, but disappears before it touches earth or when it touches, it will be found that it is mere a rock and the followers behind are similar but smaller space wonderers dirt particles. The brightness seen is created from the friction between them and the atmosphere due to the speed of the meteor and its space dirt wonderers which are trapped by the movement of the meteor due to its gravity.
Ancient astronomers, physicists, mathematicians, like Galileo and Copernicus were inspired more by stars than by meteors or asteroids to study the universe. Contemporary scientists of global mind whose imagination surpasses and transcends local training and local quasi-thinking, who feel, work day and night to study the section of the universe that we belong and that we can imagine, go beyond in their works, for the greater good of man. To think locally for such a scientist, is just like preaching arithmetic is the highest level of mathematics learning -which is totally wrong, misleading and dangerous for those who believe it.
My point in short is to draw parallel arguments to stars of ethnicity ( but meteors ) .
It has been observed time and again in modern times that, individuals who perpetrate ethnicity, teach hate on others and promise a dubious type of social and political order and space where society should live like merchandises/goods in a boutique - displayed side by side simply by their types without being mixed, are mere social meteors and their followers are people from their type who lack proper imagination either due to lack of basic education or due to lack of education that directed to the greater good of the human society and fails to foresee the future and ultimate collective destiny of man on earth.
These social or human meteors who, from a distance looked and promised to be guiding lights ( or stars ) only to their own type of followers, by the time they touch earth which is their political power, they change instantly to a rock-an object completely devoid of light source, together with tiny similar light less rock of followers. They change the place to a virtual prison and what is left to their real estate. Their followers then will be guards of prisons or workers or serfs in their real estate-the country they claimed is finally obtained or liberated.
OBSERVATION: ∢
A natural disaster is much better than an ethnic politician. The former forces different groups of people to work together and overcome the disaster, thereby shows and teaches how a collective work is stronger, effective and necessary for a collective wellbeing. In the contrary, the later teaches and preaches even forces different ethnic groups to fight in order to live separate and thereby weakens and trivializes the power of unison of different people to solve problems of varying magnitude. It undermines the collective good of man that gives refuge to those who suffer from natural or social calamities which displays the oneness of man and the common home of earth to all.
Axiom: In any discourse, either social, political, religious or otherwise, to present ideas in a civilized way and treating your opponents with respect are acts of virtue.
Besides to be at least on the better side of humanity, make sure your acts should have some elements from each of the following three important ingredients of a modern personality which I will call them the three traits of modernity that will lead mankind to a better and understanding world that accommodates us all.

If OLF makes a real change in policy, that should be most welcome. For that, I expect to see practical steps: e.g., it should demonstrate that it no longer engages in hate propaganda (which is largely based on sensitising and false information), accept Ethiopia as a country and struggle for freedom of all Ethiopians from opressing rulers. If OLF still persists with ethnicity as a foundation for their politics, better they join EPRDF. The encouraging fact is that vibrant Ethiopian politicians of oromo origin are bergeoning and garnering support of Ethiopians from diverse language origins. This fact could shortly make OLF irrelevant in Ethiopian politics unless it makes radical transformation for its own sake.

Christians or Ethiopians I think in his speaking he meant to say they were Isrealit jeu’s.

I am amazed at the press release of OLF from Asmara. OLF as TPLF started as the “liberators” for their respective ethinic groups. While TPLF systematically adjusts itself to fit the new internatinal and national situations, OLF still holds on its old idea of liberating the Oromos. This has generally made (the potentially powerfull force in Ethiopian politics) the Front largely useless. Wouldn’t it be difficult for the other opposition groups to work with the “liberators” such as the OLF and ONLF. I am surprised that OLF still hasn’t learned a bit from its long history. OLF ….please look at yourself and your surrounding and make the necessary change.

We have to accept OLF, whether we like it or not. OLF has a very large mass base. Oromos are too many to be ignored and OLF has time and again proved that it is working for democracy. Independence oromia the scaring tactic of TPLF is not working at all and is bullshit. Olf has also proved in the past that TPLF is a dictatorial, tribal and single man rule. Mele’s reign, unfortunately, just like his cousin Mengistu will come to an end, catastrophically after fighting. There is no peaceful way. Everyone has got this message after the election 2010, except foolish guys and gals. Meles may be captured or killed. He is in an ocean, No way out, No boat. That is why he rules by force and intimidation as far as he can go. If he gives up power peacefully, he will be jailed or killed, because has killed many Ethiopian brothers and sisters. He said that the next five years he will leave office. HHHHHHHHHHHHH. Fooling the Aradas. I never thought for a millisecond that Meles will leave power peacefully and I will never ever believe in the future. He always wants to buy time, because he thinks that we Ethiopians are very foolish. He knows that he cannot rule if Oromo and Amharas are united. There are some wayanes here trying to talk about OLF. OLF never wants to rule Ethiopia by force. Just like Gunboat 7, the smart party, OLF never ever thought that TPLF will give power peacefully.
I like Ginbot 7, the Merkato Aradas, who never thought that election 2010 will be a democratic one. For the heaven sake, how dare a TPLF (NOT EPRDF, don’t be foolish) from 6% of Ethiopian population takes all ministerial and high level military positions. Don’t tell me, like TPLF does, that others are not educated. All TPLF ministers including Meles got there certificates and degrees from universities, where you can buy, if you got the money. Don’t tell me that there are Oromo- and Amhara ministers. For sure there are 2 or 3 Oromo- and Amhara ministers who are controlled by TPLF and chose to work as donkeys. I never wanted even during Mengistu to work as an Amhara minister for a dictator and will never ever think of working for Meles as donkey Amhara, but I may and will work as lion-minster who can defend his ideas in the future after Meles’s region come to an end. That is why I am proud of GINBOT 7.

We should not invite OLF as well as AEUP (AAPO) for it is established to advance the interest of Amharas, EDP for its programs are no different than AEUP, EPRP since it has consolidated its member base to Amharas after purging all others in due time, TPLF since its base are Tigreans. So what are we left with? I acknowledge that Amharas like their purported organization and so do Tigreans. How about Oromos? ummmmmmmm

I addition to my previous comment on the OLF Press Release, I can not but to reconfirm that that ethnic and secessionist politics and policies are at the core of the multi-layer, hierarchical political model of TPLF/eprdf regime and those with ethnic agenda at the core of their platform and large number of participants it attracts in the discussion forum.
Here is/are the main objectives and strategies stipulated in the OLF Press rRelease: “the OLF joined the coalition with TPLF in good faith with the intention of laying down foundations of all inclusive democracy, respect for human rights and effect a peaceful transition to the peoples’ Sovereignty whereby the Oromo quest for self-determination and all other ligering political questions of the country would be peacefully and democratically resolved”. It should be noted the common denominator for all parties in Ethiopia is respect for Human Rights of all Ethiopians.
While the objectives for the loyalist opposition parties are respect for ethnic rights, and human rights and implicitly respect for ethnic boundries created by TPLF/eprdf regime, the objective9s) for OLF is respect for secessionist rights upto self-determination, that has not yet been fulfiled in the past 20 years.
Both of the above factions are products of the students’socialistic movements/revolution with the oppression of nationalities as their major contention, rather than class struggle for the masses, against royalities, ballabats, land lords and employers led by TPLF and EPLF liberation movements, I presume, in retrospective. While the objectives for both factions are incorporated into the Constitution, the respect for the secessionist rights, upto self determinationation has never been implemented by TPLF/eprdf regime as it was the case for Eritrea.
Without questioning the legality of that framework in the constitution, that frame work in the constitution failed to fullfil to the settlement of that right through peaceful democratic dialogue, however, vague twhat kind of democratic dialgue it would be, as per OLF Press Release in the aftermath of the election. THis incident gave rise to the OLF movement through armed struggle, based in Eritrea for the past 20 years.
In the past few years, I presume OLF had raised hopes of resolving this issue through AFD, sponsored by Eritrea, I might be wrong, and lately, I presume, have raised their hopes lately through Ginbot 7, and Medrek, a coalition of loyalist opposition parties with ethnic agenda, rather than national agenda for the reumption of peaceful democratic dialogue as the title implies (FDD), (a mirror image of TPLF/eprdf regime, which lost parliamentary seats, which is equivalent to electoral votes in US, but won a substatial number of popular votes for the party under nt not so free and fair election environment), rather than negotiate with TPLF/eprdf regime which formulated the constitution/the title holder, nor the truley democratic parties with national agenda, whose stands is indirect contrast to TPLF/eprdf regime for a peaceful democratic dialogue.
That democratic dialogue may have resulted in the redrating of the constitution with respect to the sovereignity of Ethiopia and Ethiopia and Ethiopians and on ethnic and secessionist politics to be determined by public referendum of the constitution, following the election of parties with national agenda under fair fair and free election.
That secenario closes the chapter for ethnic and secessionist politics and /or policies and parties would be forced to campaign on how to govern, develop the country as a whole according perhaps by ecological, not ethnical boundries, with fedrated states of multi-ethnic groups, and develop languages and cultures to maintain the strength of Ethiopia in its diversity of ethnicities, languages, religions and cultures, living harmoneously to gether in a truley democratic society, as opposed to ethnic dictatorship of one sort or another.

What is the message in here?
I do not know whether you are attempting to generate confusion. OLF
does not need your approval or AAPO’s approval for its strategies and tactics nor does it need your approval for its programs. You know as well as TPLF that Under democratic institutions OLF will come on top of any of your organizations. But we have a thick history behind us as a country and as a nation; a history in which successive governements have been so hostile to the Oromo people as a nation. Today the Oromo people have raised serious issues that need to be addressed to accomodate Oromo grievances or sooner or later the country will pay a heavy price for its silence. We know that the Amhara poltical elites will do every thing possible to thwart that attempt. The TPLF uses several blackmails to create the atmosphere of intolerance. The way forward would have been to open up a democratic environment in which people would express their choices. TPLF will not allow it, AAPO will not allow it. For the OLF leadership, it is time to recognize these facts and be ready pay any price with the people behind them.
