In the past week, the BBC World Service has broadcasts that millions of aid money was diverted by TPLF to buy weapons. (Listen BBC’s report). Few days ago, Bob Geldof denies aid was spent on weapons and now the head of TPLF supported him, “it is false accusation” he said, “I met Bob Geldof in Nairobi, he is disappointed. We can criticize BBC and also raise questions over Martin Plaut… even though this journalist has a tendency to distance himself from Eritrea, we know him that Martin Plaut used to be supporter of Eritrea/Shabiya during the war time.” (Listen to Zenawi’s message to journalists abroad)

There is an Amharic saying, “Ewentena Negate Eyader Yiterale” translated Truth finally will be as clear as the morning day light after dawn.
The uncalled anger of Bob Geldof whether it is to keep his good name or to defend thieves will be known only if there is an international commission to investigate Food Aid Crimes which is now called on World Food Program to investigate the diversion of more than sixty percent of more than 400million worth of food to Somalia.
The difference between the two crimes is the time lapse of more than two decades but both of them are looting in large scale to enrich few tribal warlords. It is worth looking to the two years occupation of Somalia by TPLF and the money siphoned too. There is no bookkeeping of that war on TPLF,however, pentagon can shed some light on that. The chance of counter terrorism loot is likely by the food aid looters.
BBC reporter can find similar looting in Shabia led Eritrea if he got brave Eritreans to expose the crime that was organized by Eritrean relief agencies similar to REST. Both regimes were reading the same book back then.
We know Shabia is boasting to have armes that can arm six countries. Both Meles and Isaias claim to capture it from Derg, never used the food aid loot to buy arms. Let them open themselves for international investigators.
The get together of Bob Geldof and Meles in Nairobi shows that they seem both worried maybe for their Good Name or something more.
Seye Abraha claims that it was not used to buy arms but to buy fuel and other expenses while Gebru Asrat said the West knew that food aid was used for military purpose. One thing BBC investigation did not cover is the connection of food aid to the wealth of TPLF Seye confirmed this week.
Whether you buy arms or built REST/EFFORT using food aid it is all crime. The book of EFFORT should be open for international investigation because it is built by international food aid, Endwment Fund For Food Aid Thieves.

While all the other people who have been fooled by TPLF have waken up (example: Oxfam’s director who was stationed in the Sudan), Bob Geldof seems to be the only guy who can not come to terms with the idea of him being fooled by TPLF.
It seems Bob Geldof still does not know that this whole thing was started NOT by BBC but by TPLF’s own bravado of how they either fooled or induced the British and the West into giving them hundreds of millions of dollars so that they could establish EFFORT (endowment fund for rehabilitation of Tigray). As anybody who watched ETV in the early 90’s could testify, this looting company was started with billions of Birr in its bank account and THERE IS NO WAY TPLF COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE BILLIONS OF BIRR WITHOUT SOME KIND OF LOOTING. I don’t know what their present story of how they got the billions of birr is…but back in the days TPLF’s position was that they earned the monies via a gain-some relationship with the aid agencies while they were in the bushes.

Meles is a product of the Amara and Tigray ethnic relationship. Essentially out of Tigray suppression and outrage on being taken advantage off, with blackmails to the actions of divide and exploit racist foreign powers. I personally don’t caim to know all the details of this sour relationship as I am not a historian, but I don’t believe I am far from the truth.
The story of Amara and Tigray divide began when Tewodros misbehaved to Queen Victoria. On top of that Tewodros wouln’t release European prisoners, including an Englishman, ploudon, now inmate but previously his political advisor for failing to agree Queen Victroria to sleep with the African dark Tewodros and for failing to procure arms shipment.
Unable to swallow pride disrespected by a n*ger King, Queen Victoria sought local suuport against *Emperor Tewodros. Queen Victoria’s men secured the support of the rebellious Dejazmach Kasa of Tigray. Armed him to the teeth, just as much s Britain armed Meles Zenawi. Kasa, howevweer, was not equal to the military strength of Tewdros, built over a decade, who can only be defeated by the equally or more so army of British General Napier of India.
As long as there are foreign powers who are willing to play to the tribal instincts of Amara, Tigray, Oromo pagans in the name of Christianity in Ethiopia, there will always be tribal conflicts. Many regard that stooping down to the level of tribal instincts rather than rational reasoning and peace is a sign of of low intelligence.

The ability of Ethiopian officials to fabricate denials has not yet been matched by any parallel anywhere in the world. Nor do they have mileage problems, when they keep on pumping thousands of lies with no scruples. Fortunately, by now the world has come to realize from several instances their credibility crisis, such as in their human rights violations, denial of existence of drought, corruption and capital flight, absence of rule of law, harassment and imprisonment of political opponents and torture…so they are.
The latest one is the above effrontery by Meles Zenawi, Ethiopia’s prime minister, against the BBC and journalist Martin Plaut, in connection with the story of arms deal with humanitarian aid that was aired on BBC less than a week ago.
For argument’s sake, let us say, the accuracy of the reporting is questionable, or shoddy for that matter. Tell me for goodness sake, if it could in any way give Meles Zenawi the sense of decency or any moral authority to judge Martin Plaut, accusing him of biased reporting against the Ethiopian regime, because of his close ties during the long armed struggle with the Eritrean regime, and hence his motive for doing such an unprofessional thing!
If you listen to what Meles says, he was talking in the past participle, saying that it happened in the past, that now Mr. Plaut has distanced himself from Eritrea. If Meles could notice that he has distanced himself, why this reporting now! Is it a farewell to Asmara? What a cock-and-bull reasoning!
Was it not through his own alliance, and service within the EPLF army and Eritrean separatists that Meles succeeded in overthrowing the military government? Did he not render Ethiopia landlocked after he handed the Port of Assab as a reward to Isayias Afeworki for his all round comradeship, without any consultations with the Ethiopian people–a thing that ever since 1993 has remained the thorn on Meles’s and TPLF’s side? Were the two, i.e., Meles and Isayias, not joined below the hip until it lasted and fell out of love with each other and became cause for the demise of over 70,000 lives in the 1998-2000 war?
Who is much closer to Eritrea? Meles, whose party until recently, even after that bloody war, was bristling with bravado to go to was in Eritrea’s defense, if attacked by Ethiopians, or Martin Plaut for doing his job as a journalist?
I do not know Martin Plaut. Therefore, it is not anything personal on my part. Nor would I vouch for BBC’s integrity, although it is one of my preferred stations for some of its topical issues. If I must tell you, for me its objectivity flew out of the window during its campaign against Zimbabwe, without criticizing the policy failures and double standards of Blair and Gordon Brown and Whitehall together, all of whom were taken captive by their desire : (a) to defend the rights of white Zimbabweans and (b) avoid a domino effect in South Africa! I am fine with the motive, but not with the means that sank a promising country and through unreasonable means.
I am pretty sure, Maichavelli and Raputin must have rolled in their graves, but not the British government, on hearing Meles’s usual loose talk and political expediences that today are employed to cover his criminal misdeeds and that of his comrades.
The sad thing is that association with Meles is getting tainted a modern day Samaritan, the gullible Bob Geldof, who for a good reason, is terribly worried about the story’s implications on the future of humanitarian aid. Sadly, the stresses of his concern have blinded him to the truth to neglect possibilities for its methodical search in this case. Mr. Geldof should not become another Meles who is blinded by the love of power and would do anything to keep it in his hand.
The more I listen to him and see what he does, I despair. I see nothing decent in that person! Have I become like that British octogenarian, who before her death a few years back said the sight and smile of Blair makes her sick!

After twenty five yrs a reporter who has a close tie with our number one arch enemy Eritrea came up with bogus allegation for no reason.The aim of this false report is to create distability in Ethiopia since election is around the corner.The no war and no peace policy we have with this country is hurting the system more than the recent UN sanction.According to a recent report by UN,the majority of the population are starving in silence while their defiant leader brushing this tragedy as if it is some sort of a joke.Even Isaias himself knows that as the people will rise up against him unless he come up with something before things get out of con troll.So,it is not a surprise to hear this kinds of baseless accusation from such kinds of reporter.If anyone to be blame for this tragedy,it should be the former govt(Mengestu).They were not only blocked any aid to pass through,they were also bombarding the province indiscriminately.Unfortunately,to some corner of our population it never happened.One thing is for sure,Ethiopia is heading forward for better,no one can stop us from achieving the best for our people.
