    1. Southerner Says:

How do you expect to have meaningful democratic opposition, while the entire opposition leadership post totally dominated by single tribe (Amhara tribe) ? ?
What we need in Ethiopia is not another AMARAISM but DEMOCRACY.

Ato Seye”s and Dr. Negasso’s response to the attending audience as well the leaders stance in the coalition Medrek on Ethnic fedralism and seccessionism is a step in the right direction. I hope it is not an election gimmick to attract those in the camp of positive forces of integration for unity, territorial integrity, sovereignity of Ethiopia and Ethiopians. It may not exist in the Medrek party bylaw except perhaps in UDJP’s by laws, which is now part of the coalition, where the Vice Chairman straddles between two camps as Vice Chairman for Medrek and Vice chairman for UDJP. Nothing is valid and credible without a change of the platform of ethnic agenda to national agenda, which then becomes; which party serves the Ethiopian Nationalism and Ethiopian Interest as a nation with endowment of freedom to the individuals than to ethnicities/nationalities.

    3. Jaleta Says:

Fekade’s timely article is as solid and consistent as ever above all has a powerful inspiring analysis of the contemporarey Ethiopia political landscape. He listed concrete rationale for the urgency of bringing down the Melese dictatorial regime and why the Ethiopian people have to rise and end the Woyane and Tigre tyranny - and bring those responsible for the many years of crime against humanity to face justice and the rule of law. He also made a case for people’s insurrection against tyranny of untold proportion. True to his hall-mark contribution in identifying the course of action, he provides many reasons why Ethiopians have to rise-up as one and dismantle Woyane and the dictator Melese through mass uprising. Fekade - keep up the good work!!!

    4. anga007 Says:

Article 39 is a well articulated age-old human endeavor to freedom from imposed union or agreements or bondage you have not willingly signed into. There is nothing improper about it. It’s rather righting the wrongs imposed by conquest on people who were vioelntly subjugated into a forced union. As conquests have age linmits, there comes a time when the conquerers are no more able to maintain their previous control of the empire, and as a consequence loss of of power and prestige , and with it loss of territories. In the end, their influence shrinks by folded labguage and culture coverage to the birth of the aggressor.

    5. aha! Says:

Anga ! Supporting Article 39 is tantamount to implicitly sustaining TPLF/eprdf, the author of ethnicism and seccessionism, ispite of the on the liberation front seccessionist right has not been implemented . Since it has not been implemented you are still engaged in armed struggle skirmishes with TPLF/eprdf to get you out of forced Union or the Ethiopian Government as a coloniser, similar to EPLF’s assertion.

The current political discussion has to do with the true confession of the previous TPLF members on ethnic federalism and seccessionism and the change of heats of the colition and particularly Ato Seye and Dr. Negasso Gidada. Nothing is real until it is substantiated in the party’s platform, changing its emphasis from ethnic agenda to national agenda towards Ethiopian Nationalism and Ethiopian interest. Yhen and there the parties can compete on how best to govern and Ethiopia as a whole based on their intellect and ingenuity rather hoding on to divide and rule, separate but equal language based of nine regions with ill defined boundries, rather than the existing cosmopolitan nature of ethnicities in cities and in the original provinces.
