30 June 2009 – Two civilians were killed and twelve injured on Tuesday as police opened fire on peaceful protesters in Northern Ethiopia province of Dessie, state TV said.
According to ETV, the clash erupted between police and protestors who demanded their right to build chapel in the city.
Other sources indicate that tense situation is prevailing in the area where more causalities are being witnessed than reported on ETV, which serves as a propaganda tool for the regime.
“Soldier and police force fired live ammunition at the chest and head of the demonstrators,” Eyewitness said.
Several people, including a monk, are killed according to the source.

The ethnofascist rule of Meles Zenawi has been inciting ethnic conflicts in Ethiopia as its long term policy of staying in power for ever. Now the ethnofascist is resorting to inciting inter-faith conflicts to divide and rule.
Ethiopians should avoid stepping on to the trap of the ethnofascists and carry on their anti-fascist struggle in unison. These ethno-fascist incited sectorian conflicts are going to consume the whole country and all will be the losers except the ethnofascists who will retreat to their ethnic homeland to live in peace. As the struggle gains momentum and gets tough, the ethnofascists will stir up more bloody violences in the country. The ethnofascist Meles Zenawi is determined to take bath in the blood of the Amharas whom he hates most and works hard to get rid of. The sectorian violences he has incited have always targeted and taken their biggest tolls on the Amharas. Ginbot7 has been warning all Ethiopians about the impending danger in the country and calling on all Ethiopians to rise up against the ethnofascists. The Oroomos are also the prime targets of ethnofascism in Ethiopia and paying enormous sacrifices. The jails of ethnofascism are filled with Oromo prisoners who are languishing without justice. The TPLF ethnofascists began the horror by instigating inter-ethnic conflicts in which the main victims were the Amharas and other non-Tigre followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. As a result thousands of Amharas were murdered in cold blood and displaced in different parts of the country. According to my personal conversations with some ex-TPLF members, the brains behind the anti-Amhara crusade and Amahara killing conflicts are Meles Zenawi and Sebhat Nega. The TPLF is an ethnofascstic organization promoting ethnic supremacy and spreading racism and exclusion of the majority in the country. It has spread the myth of Tigrayan supremacy in Tigray and rallied the people of the region specially the elites behind their ethnofascist leader, Meles Zenawi. The Tigrayan elite have forgotten that their education was paid for by the poor Ethiopians who are now the victims of their ethnofascistic ethnic leader, whom they worship and obey blindly. These two senior officials of the TPLF are long known for their fascistic ideologies and brutalities singling out the Amharas as the enemies of the people of Tigray. Now they are pursuing their same fascistic policies towards the Oromos and destroying Oromo lives and properties in the country. The rise of Ginbot7 and its non-compromising stand against ethnofascism in Ethiopia are very promising developments. The ethnofascists are just living in fear and trembling whenever Ginbot7 holds public meetings and organizes the scattered force in the Diaspora and Ethiopia.

Ethiopian police have shot and killed two people who were helping to build a Christian church at a site which is also claimed by Muslims, officials say.
Violence broke out when police tried to stop the construction in Dessie, 250km (155 miles) north-east of Addis Ababa.
The police say they were responding to an attack on them by the Christians, but campaign groups say the police ambushed the workers.
The population of Dessie is about two-thirds Christian, one-third Muslim.
Information Minister Bereket Simon told reporters that the Christians had “stormed the place” and tried to continue building the church “unlawfully”.
“Unfortunately three lives have been claimed. Two of them were killed by bullets, one of them fell off a cliff,” he said.
Several other people were also hurt in the violence.

The ethnofascists and their beneficiaries like the ones using false names to inject the poisons of the ethnofascist Meles into our healthy discussions, are all beasts and we do not count them as Ethiopians.
Ethiopia has never had a fascistic regime like the one of Meles Zenawi which hatches and plots inter-communal conflicts and violence to destroy the country. The followers and supporters of Meles Zenawi should be aware of the fact that their reckless and menacious acts
of inciting ethnic and gaith based conflicts could lead to genocide and backfire. The two of Desie is one of the places where the Christian and Muslim communities of our country lived together in harmony and respecting each other. The ethnofascists who have organized themselves under
the TPLF are using every difference in the country to incite violence
as the means to prolong their hold on power. As the minority ethnofascistic illegitimate regime with little or no popular base in the country,the regime of Meles Zenawi will leave no stone unturned to stir up violence. Our communities are well ahead of the ethnofascists and are not trapped in any of the malicious plans of the brains of Ethnofascism, Meles Zenawi and the old womanizer, Sebhat Nega. This attempt by the ethnofascists to spark off civil war in the town of Desie proves the desperation of Meles Zenawi and his thugs.

The Orthodox followers in Ethiopia should be silenced . Orthodox church (in Ethiopia) is the most chaotic and outdated entity in Africa . Before the arrival of woyane in 1991 the church (ruled by illiterate Amharas ) was “an arm of government” so that they are responsible for the poverty and failure of the country . They are trying to put their dirty hands in any way possible in the affairs directly harming the people . For example in Oromia ,they are organizing mafias and killers as they were doing for the past 100 years . Well ,the Oromo people are aware of everything the Amharas are doing to once dominate them . The era of “afiz adengiz ” is over . Amharas and Orthodox need to think and act just like the rest of the citizens .
