Teddy Afro Speaks on the Situation in South Africa

Nelson Mandela wrote in his Autobiography “Ethiopia always has a special place in my imagination and the prospect of visiting Ethiopia attracted me more strongly than a trip to France, England, and America combined. I felt I would be visiting my own genesis, unearthing the roots of what made me an African. ”

This is a very interesting part about Ethiopia, South Africa, The African continent and Nelson Mandela.

We, are saddened by the fact that several Ethiopians and other fellow African brothers and sisters have been left dead or seriously hurt and fearing for their lives due to a wave of xenophobic violence hit in South Africa.

We urge the people and government of South Africa to grant them immediate safety and the necessary legal protection.
Such behaviour dehumanizes not only the victims, but more so, the perpetrators .

On May 25,1963 during the establishment of OAU, it’s first president H.E. Haile Selassie, the then emperor of Ethiopia said “History teaches us that unity is strength, and cautions us to submerge and overcome our differences in the quest for common goals,to strive, with all our combined strength, for the path to true African brotherhood and unity. ”

As Africans we can either fall, or rise together.
The choice right now is in South Africans’ hand.

Peace be unto the world!
