Escaping Ethiopia’s unemployment – Al Jazeera English

Despite a growing economy, many of Ethiopia’s young people are unemployed and seeking jobs abroad.

Ethiopia has one of the world’s fastest growing economies, but half of the country’s young workers are out of a job.

This situation is prompting some people to use desperate and sometimes dangerous measures to find better opportunities elsewhere, including paying to be smuggled into other countries.

Others choose the legal path and apply for work in Gulf countries.

Al Jazeera’s Catherine Soi reports from Addis Ababa.
