የቴሌ ኤጀንሲ ዳይሬክተር አሜሪካ ቀሩ A brief Profile

Eshetu Alemu19 July 2009 – በአሰግድ ተፈራ –የኢትዮጵያ ቴሌኮሙኒኬሽን ኤጀንሲ ዳይሬክተር አቶ እሸቱ ዓለሙ ለስብሰባ አሜሪካን ሄደው እንደቀሩ ተጠቆመ፡፡ የፖለቲካ ጥገኝነት መጠየቃቸውም ታውቋል፡፡ (A brief Profile included)

አቶ እሸቱ ከሚያዝያ 25 ቀን 2001 ዓ.ም. ጀምሮ ለ15 ቀናት በኤክስኪዩቲቭ ቴሌኮም ማኔጅመንት ስልጠና ለመሳተፍ አሜሪካ እንደሄዱ ምንጮቻችን፣ ተናግረዋል፡፡

ከ1995 ዓ.ም. ጀምሮ አሜሪካ እስከሄዱበት ቀን ድረስ የኤጀንሲው ዳይሬክተር ሆነው ሲሰሩ የነበሩት አቶ እሸቱ፣ በኢሜል በላኩት መልዕክት በአሜሪካ እንደሚቆዩ ማረጋገጣቸውን ለእሳቸው ቅርበት ያላቸው የሥራ ባልደረቦቻቸው አመልክተዋል፡፡

ከኬሚስትሪ በተጨማሪ በኢንፎርሜሽን ሳይንስ የማስትሬት ዲግሪ እንዳላቸው በፕሮፋይላቸው ላይ የጠቀሱት አቶ እሸቱ የቴሌኮሙኒኬሽን ኮርፖሬሽን ቦርድ አባል ሆነው ያገለገሉ ሲሆን ቀደም ሲል በሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ኮሚሽን የተለያዩ ኃላፊነቶች ላለፉት 7 ዓመታት ሰርተዋል፡፡

A brief Profile

Eshetu Alemu (MSc.). was the Director General of the Ethiopian Telecommunication Agency, the telecom regulator, since September 2002. By training, he is an information systems professional.

From 1985 to August 2002, he has worked for the Ethiopian Science and Technology Commission, National Computer and Information Centre, holding positions from expert to Deputy Director level. He has contributed in the areas ranging from institutional information system development to formulation of National ICT Policy, which resulted in the establishment of the Ethiopian ICT Development Authority in 2003. In his capacity as a Deputy Director of the National Computer and Information Centre, he had led the design and implementation of national capacity building programme for ICT Assisted Development programme for Ethiopia.

He has  also served as a member of Board of Management for the Ethiopian Telecommunication Corporation, the telecom operator, from February 1998 to August 2002. During this period, He has contributed to the serious transformation of the Corporation to become vibrant public enterprise. Currently, He was  member of Board of Trustees of the College of Telecommunication and Information Technology, Ethiopia.

Since he joined the Agency, he has been managing to transform the Agency to a strong regulatory institution capable of responding to the emerging and dynamic ICT industry.
