I have read the article with interest, and learned something novel from it. But my intention to write the feedback is to remind Tsegaye, although I doubt that he does overlook this glaring fact, American’s description of the “evil empire” and “terrorist” organizations has emanated having the American self-interest in mind. As for “Rogue” nations it is not a lexicon that has been widely used. Some journalists use the word here and there, but it is dying. Terrorism is the flavor of the time. The “evil empire” which president Regan talked about singled out the former Soviet unions. That phrase was popularized during the dying days of the Russian empire. Now the phrase is practically useless. The word “terrorism” came into use when some have used religion to address political grievances. So using that term to describe dictatorial regimes who have flexed their muscles on their own people might not be accurate. In fact, to be frank I do not know any nation which has been known as terrorist. The American government used the terrorist label for organizations like “Hamas,” but not nation state. I do not think, somebody enlighten me if I am wrong, Iran was labelled a “terrorist” nation. True, the US accused Iran for sponsoring terrorism. But that is totally different from being labelled as a terrorist country. As I mentioned earlier rogue nation is not such a captivating phrase. Well,Tsegaye, I think we Ethiopians should name what type of government we have. Let us leave the US government out of it. After all their designation of names takes into account primarily the American interest.
